hickory tussock moth caterpillar

I'm pretty sure this is a Hickory Tussock Moth caterpillar.
(Lophocampa caryae)

Not sure if this is its cocoon or another caterpillars.

I got a photo of one that I think is a tussock moth, but I couldn't get a bite from Bug-guide to confirm. I think they are kind of neat... Michelle
